(NetAdvantage 4.1 / NetAdvantage 5.2)

Error 1606 usually occurs due to incorrect or inaccessible user directory paths in Windows Registry.

Follow the steps carefully 👇

          

✅ FINAL FIX (THIS WILL WORK)


🔹 Step 1: Open User Management

  1. Press Win + R

  2. Type:

    lusrmgr.msc

  3. Press Enter

  4. Click OK if prompted




🔹 Step 2: Create a New Local User

  1. Go to Users

  2. Right-click → New User

  3. Create a temporary user (ASPNET)

  4. Set a password (optional)

  5. Click Create and then Close




🔹 Step 3: Open Registry Editor

  1. Press Win + R

  2. Type:

    regedit

  3. Press Enter

  4. Click Yes on UAC prompt




🔹 Step 4: Navigate to the Registry Path

Go to the following location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE

 └─ SOFTWARE

    └─ WOW6432Node

       └─ Microsoft

          └─ InetStp



🔹 Step 6: Modify the Path

            C:\inetpub\wwwroot

🔹 Step 7: Restart the System

  1. Restart the PC

  2. Run the NetAdvantage installer as Administrator



🔹 Step 5: Revert Settings (IMPORTANT)

After successful installation:

  1. Revert registry paths back to original values

  2. Restart the system again
